Definition and function:
Automatic brake clearance adjustment arm, referred to as self-adjusting arm, can automatically and timely adjust the clearance increased by the wear of brake friction pads, so that the brake clearance is always kept within the design range, ensuring the normal operation and good performance of the brake system.
Working principle:
Braking process identification: When the vehicle brakes, the adjustment arm will accurately record the various clearance changes between the brake drum and the friction lining. The brake clearance is mainly divided into theoretical brake clearance (normal clearance between the brake drum and the brake shoe), elastic brake clearance (working clearance to ensure safe and reliable braking) and excess brake clearance (excessive clearance caused by friction lining wear and other reasons).
Clearance adjustment action: When the friction pad wear causes the brake clearance to exceed the set limit, the mechanical structure inside the adjustment arm, such as the worm gear and other devices, will start to work. The worm gear drives the camshaft to rotate through a certain angle, thereby compensating for the clearance increased by wear and restoring the brake clearance to the normal range. After releasing the brake pedal, the adjustment arm will return to the initial state and prepare for the next brake adjustment.

Structural composition:

►Clutch: combined with the thrust spring, it can identify the elastic clearance and excess clearance value during the braking process, and realize the rapid on-off start-stop of the force transmission system, ensuring that the adjustment arm adjusts the clearance at the right time.
►Thrust spring: assists the clutch to work, senses the force generated by the clearance change during the braking process, and provides power support for the clearance adjustment.
Worm gear: on the one hand, it plays the role of transmitting the braking torque, transmitting the force of the brake pedal to other components of the brake system; on the other hand, when the brake is returned, it drives the camshaft to rotate according to the clearance change to adjust the brake clearance.
