2. Pumping stroke: The camshaft makes the plunger of the pump move up and down according to the shape of the cam. When the plunger moves upward, the fuel in the pump chamber is compressed and the pressure increases. When a certain pressure is reached, the oil outlet valve opens, and the fuel is pressed into the common rail or fuel distribution pipe and delivered to the injector.
3. Return stroke: In some cases, such as when the fuel pressure is too high or the amount of fuel required by the engine is reduced, the excess fuel will flow back to the fuel tank through the return channel to adjust the fuel pressure and flow to ensure the normal operation of the fuel system.
